The Prophet ﷺ forbade cauterization, but we cauterized anyway, and it neither succeeded nor brought any benefit.
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن ثابت عن مطرف
نهى النبي ﷺ عن الكي فاكتوينا فما أفلحن ولا أنجحن
Sourcing, its isnad is sahih. Ahmad reported it, 4/444, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama through this route. Its basis is found in Muslim, hadith 1226/167, from the hadith of Mutarrif through this route.
