The Prophet ﷺ was cupped three times, on the two veins at the sides of the neck and on the upper back between the shoulders.Muamar said, "I was cupped, and I lost my memory to such an extent that I had to be prompted with the opening chapter of the Quran during my prayer." He had been cupped on the crown of his head.

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Tirmidhi recorded it in the Book of Medicine, the chapter on what has been said about cupping, no. 2051, and Ibn Majah, no. 3483, from the hadith of Jareer bin Hazim, with the same wording, and Tirmidhi said, hasan gharib. Qatada is a mudallis and he narrated it using "an" (indicating possible concealment in the chain).
