The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever sleeps with grease from food on his hand without washing it and something harms him, let him blame no one but himself."
حدثنا أحمد بن يونس حدثنا زهير حدثنا سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ من نام وفي يده غمر ولم يغسله فأصابه شيء فلا يلومن إلا نفسه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Foods, chapter of one who sleeps with the smell of grease on his hand, no. 3297, from the hadith of Suhayl bin Abu Salih, with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1354.
