The Prophet ﷺ forbade eating the food of those who compete with one another in hospitality.
حدثنا هارون بن زيد بن أبي الزرقاء حدثنا أبي حدثنا جرير بن حازم عن الزبير بن الخريت قال سمعت عكرمة يقول كان
إن النبي ﷺ نهى عن طعام المتباريين أن يؤكل
[Sahih] Bayhaqi narrated it, 7/274, from the hadith of Abu Dawud, and Hakim graded it sahih, 4/128-129, and Dhahabi agreed with him, and Diya included it in Al-Mukhtarah, 11/384, no. 401, and the hadith has corroborating narrations.
