They both disliked drinking from unripe dates alone, taking this view from Ibn Abbas. Ibn Abbas said, "I fear that this is the muzza which Abdul-Qays were forbidden from."So I asked Qatada, "What is muzza?"He replied, "Date-wine prepared in green earthenware jars and pitch-coated vessels."

[Its chain is daif] Ahmad narrated it: 1/310 from the hadith of Qatada, and its chain is daif because Qatada used ambiguous transmission wording (anana), but the hadith of Nasai: 5573 makes it unnecessary.
