The Prophet ﷺ prayed while wearing a cloak, part of which was draped over one of his wives who was menstruating, and he continued his prayer while it remained upon him.
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح بن سفيان حدثنا سفيان عن أبي إسحق الشيباني سمعه من عبد الله بن شداد يحدثه
أن النبي ﷺ صلى وعليه مرط وعلى بعض أزواجه منه وهي حائض وهو يصل وهو عليه
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on Prayer While Wearing the Garment of a Menstruating Woman, hadith 653, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with this wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 768, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith 350. Its basic content is agreed upon, Bukhari, hadith 333, and Muslim, hadith 513. See also the coming hadith 656.
