I was serving drinks to the people at Abu Talha's house on the day wine was prohibited, and our drink that day was nothing but fadikh, made from unripe dates. A man came in to us and said, "Wine has been prohibited, and the announcer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has made the announcement."We said, "This is the announcer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
Bukhari narrated it in the tafsir of Maidah, chapter "There is no blame on those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten," hadith 4620, and Muslim in the Book of Drinks, chapter on the prohibition of wine, etc., hadith 1980, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, through this same chain.
