The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Recite to me from Surah an-Nisa."I said, "Shall I recite it to you when it was revealed to you?"He replied, "I love to hear it from someone other than myself."So I recited to him until I reached his words, "How then will it be when We bring from every nation a witness" [Nisa 4:41]. I raised my head, and his eyes were overflowing with tears.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Virtues of the Quran, chapter "Whoever likes to listen to the Quran from someone else," hadith no. 5049, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, chapter "The virtue of listening to the Quran," etc., hadith no. 800, from the hadith of Hafs bin Ghiyath, through the same chain.
