Khawla bint Yasar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have only one garment, and I menstruate in it. What should I do?"He said, "When you become pure, wash it and pray in it."She asked, "What if the blood does not come out?"He said, "It is enough for you to wash the blood, and its trace will not harm you."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن عيسى بن طلحة
أن خولة بنت يسار أتت النبي ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إنه ليس لي إلا ثوب واحد وأنا أحيض فيه فكيف أصنع قال إذا طهرت فاغسليه ثم صلي فيه فقالت فإن لم يخرج الدم قال يكفيك غسل الدم ولا يضرك أثره
Sourcing hasan. Ahmad narrated it in 2:380 from Qutayba with this chain, and Ibn Lahia explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Bayhaqi in 2:408. Abdullah bin Wahb and others also narrated it from him. The hadith has another route recorded by Ahmad in 2:364.
