When this verse was revealed, "If they come to you, judge between them or turn away from them" and "If you judge, judge between them with justice" [Maidah 5:42], Ibn Abbas said that whenever Banu Nadir killed someone from Banu Qurayza, they would pay only half the blood-money, but whenever Banu Qurayza killed someone from Banu Nadir, they were made to pay the full blood-money. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ established equality between them.

لما نزلت هذه الآية {فإن جاءوك فاحكم بينهم أو أعرض عنهم} {وإن حكمت فاحكم بينهم بالقسط} الآية قال كان بنو النضير إذا قتلوا من بني قريظة أدوا نصف الدية وإذا قتل بنو قريظة من بني النضير أدوا إليهم الدية كاملة فسوى رسول الله ﷺ بينهم
Its isnad is daif. Nasai narrated it in the Book of Qisamah, Chapter on the Mention of the Disagreement Regarding Ikrima on This Matter, hadith 4737, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ishaq, by this route, and he explicitly stated the direct hearing. Dawud's narration from Ikrima is munkar.
