During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, there was a man who used to engage in trade, but he was weak in judgment. His family came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and said, "Prophet of Allah, place a restriction on so-and-so, for he engages in trade while being weak in judgment."The Prophet ﷺ called him and forbade him from trading.The man said, "Prophet of Allah, I cannot bear to give up trading."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you will not leave off trading, then say, 'Take this, give that, and no deception.'"Abu Thawr reported this from Saeed.

أن رجلا على عهد رسول الله ﷺ كان يبتاع وفي عقدته ضعف فأتى أهله نبي الله ﷺ فقالوا يا نبي الله احجر على فلان فإنه يبتاع وفي عقدته ضعف فدعاه النبي ﷺ فنهاه عن البيع فقال يا نبي الله إني لا أصبر عن البيع فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن كنت غير تارك البيع فقل هاء وهاء ولا خلابة قال أبو ثور عن سعيد
[Hasan] Related by Tirmidhi in the Book of Business Transactions, chapter on the ruling concerning one who is deceived in a sale, hadith no. 1250, and Nasai, hadith no. 4490, and Ibn Majah, hadith no. 2354, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, transmitted through him. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih gharib." Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, hadith no. 568, as did Hakim, who said it met the standard of the two Shaykhs, 4/101, and Dhahabi agreed with him. This hadith has corroborating narrations, one of which is the preceding hadith.
