He said, "During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we used to buy food in bulk, and he would send someone to us with orders that we move it from the place where we had purchased it to another location before we could sell it." He meant when bought without measuring.
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة عن مالك عن نافع
أنه قال كنا في زمن رسول الله ﷺ نبتاع الطعام فيبعث علينا من يأمرنا بانتقاله من المكان الذي ابتعناه فيه إلى مكان سواه قبل أن نبيعه يعني جزافا
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on the invalidity of selling a purchased item before taking possession of it, Hadith: 1527, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain, and it is also in Muwatta (Yahya): 2/641. Bukhari narrated it, Hadith: 2123, from the hadith of Nafi through this same chain.
