The Prophet ﷺ forbade intercepting goods being brought to market. If a buyer goes out and meets the seller and purchases the goods from him, the owner of the merchandise retains the right to choose once he reaches the market.
حدثنا الربيع بن نافع أبو توبة حدثنا عبيد الله يعني ابن عمرو الرقي عن أيوب عن ابن سيرين

[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Business Transactions, chapter on the dislike of intercepting goods before they reach the market, no. 1221, from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Amr, with this wording, and he said, hasan gharib. Muslim also narrated it, no. 1519, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Sirin, with this wording.
