Alaqah bin Sahar Tamimi reported,

He passed by some people, and they came to him saying, "You have come from that man with good. Will you recite a healing for us over this man?" They brought him a deranged man bound in chains, and he recited over him the Mother of the Quran for three days, morning and evening. Each time he completed it, he would gather his saliva and spit. The man was as if released from a tether. They gave him something in payment, so he went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned it to him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Eat it. By my life, whoever takes payment for a false incantation, you have taken payment for a true one."
