The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbids you from a practice that used to benefit you, but obedience to Allah and obedience to His Messenger ﷺ is more beneficial for you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbids you from leasing farmland, and he said, "Whoever has no need of his land should grant its use to his brother or else leave it."
حدثنا محمد بن كثير أخبرنا سفيان عن منصور عن مجاهد أن أسيد بن ظهير قال جاءنا
إن رسول الله ﷺ ينهاكم عن أمر كان لكم نافعا وطاعة الله وطاعة رسول الله ﷺ أنفع لكم إن رسول الله ﷺ ينهاكم عن الحقل وقال من استغنى عن أرضه فليمنحها أخاه أو ليدع
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah reported it in the Book of Pledges, chapter on what is disliked regarding sharecropping, hadith no. 2460, from the hadith of Sufyan, and Nasai, hadith no. 3895, from the hadith of Mansur, through him.The hadith of Shubah was reported by Nasai, hadith no. 3895, and the hadith of Mufaddal bin Muhalhil was reported by Nasai, hadith no. 3894.
