We set out intending to reach the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Waail bin Hajar was with us. An enemy of his seized him. The others felt uneasy about swearing an oath, but I swore that he was my brother, so the man let him go.When we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I informed him that the others had been uneasy about swearing and that I had sworn he was my brother.He said, "You spoke the truth. The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim."

خرجنا نريد رسول الله ﷺ ومعنا وائل بن حجر فأخذه عدو له فتحرج القوم أن يحلفوا وحلفت أنه أخي فخلى سبيله فأتينا رسول الله ﷺ فأخبرته أن القوم تحرجوا أن يحلفوا وحلفت أنه أخي قال صدقت المسلم أخو المسلم
