I prayed the funeral prayer with Ibn Abbas, and he recited al-Fatihah. He said, "This is from the Sunnah."
حدثنا محمد بن كثير أخبرنا سفيان عن سعد بن إبراهيم
صليت مع ابن عباس على جنازة فقرأ بفاتحة الكتاب فقال إنها من السنة
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals, chapter titled "Reciting the Fatihah over the Funeral," Hadith 1335, from Muhammad bin Kathir Abdi, with this chain.
