كان رسول الله ﷺ يقوم في الجنازة حتى توضع في اللحد فمر به حبر من اليهود فقال هكذا نفعل فجلس النبي ﷺ وقال اجلسوا خالفوهم
Sourcing, its chain of transmission is daif. Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Funerals, chapter on sitting before the bier is set down, no. 1020, and Ibn Majah narrated it, no. 1545, from the hadith of Abu Asbat, Bishr bin Rafi al-Harithi, with the same wording. Tirmidhi said, "This hadith is rare." Bishr bin Rafi is not strong in hadith.Abdullah bin Sulayman bin Junada is daif, and his father's hadith is rejected, so the chain is very daif. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations, and the hadith of Muslim, no. 12, makes it unnecessary.
