The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to us when his daughter had passed away and said, "Wash her three times, or five, or more than that if you see fit, with water and lote leaves, and put camphor, or a little camphor, in the final wash. When you have finished, let me know."When we finished, we informed him, and he handed us his waist-wrapper and said, "Wrap her in this next to her body."

دخل علينا رسول الله ﷺ حين توفيت ابنته فقال اغسلنها ثلاثا أو خمسا أو أكثر من ذلك إن رأيتن ذلك بماء وسدر واجعلن في الآخرة كافورا أو شيئا من كافور فإذا فرغتن فآذنني فلما فرغنا آذناه فأعطانا حقوه فقال أشعرنها إياه
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals, Chapter on Washing the Deceased and Performing Ablution for Him with Water and Lote-Tree Leaves, hadith no. 1253, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Funerals, Chapter on Washing the Deceased, hadith no. 939, both from the hadith of Malik through the same chain, and it is found in Muwatta (Yahya) 1/222.
