Asma came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "Messenger of Allah, how should one of us perform the bath when she becomes pure after menstruation?"He said, "She should take her lotus leaves and water and perform ablution, then wash her head and rub it thoroughly until the water reaches the roots of her hair. Then she should pour water over her body. After that, she should take a piece of cloth and purify herself with it."She asked, "Messenger of Allah, how shall I purify myself with it?"Ayesha said, I understood what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was alluding to, so I said to her, "You trace with it the places where the blood has been."
