This is his wording. Usama bin Zayd al-Laythi informed me that Ibn Shihab told him that Anas bin Malik narrated to them that the martyrs of Uhud were not washed, but were buried with their blood still on them, and no funeral prayer was performed over them.

[Its isnad is hasan] Hakim narrated it: 1/365, 366, from the hadith of Usama bin Zayd through him, and he graded it sahih according to the standard of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him. See, no. 3138.
