The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Prepare food for the family of Jafar, for something has come upon them that has occupied them."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا سفيان حدثني جعفر بن خالد عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ اصنعوا لآل جعفر طعاما فإنه قد أتاهم أمر شغلهم
Its isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapters on funerals, in the chapter on what has been said about food prepared for the family of the deceased, hadith 998, and Ibn Majah, hadith 1610, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih," and Hakim graded it sahih, 1/372, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
