Ayesha reported,

She informed him that Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, sent word to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq asking him for her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from what Allah had granted him in Madinah and Fadak, and what remained of the one-fifth share of Khaybar.Abu Bakr replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We are not inherited from. Whatever we leave behind is charity. The family of Muhammad may only eat from this wealth.' By Allah, I will not change anything regarding the charity of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the state it was in during his lifetime. I will manage it exactly as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ managed it."So Abu Bakr refused to give Fatimah, peace be upon her, anything from it.

عن عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ

أنها أخبرته أن فاطمة بنت رسول الله ﷺ أرسلت إلى أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه تسأله ميراثها من رسول الله ﷺ مما أفاء الله عليه بالمدينة وفدك وما بقي من خمس خيبر فقال أبو بكر إن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا نورث ما تركنا صدقة إنما يأكل آل محمد من هذا المال وإني والله لا أغير شيئا من صدقة رسول الله ﷺ عن حالها التي كانت عليها في عهد رسول الله ﷺ فلأعملن فيها بما عمل به رسول الله ﷺ فأبى أبو بكر رضي الله عنه أن يدفع إلى فاطمة عليها السلام منها شيئا
