I came to the Prophet ﷺ after he had finished with the people of Badr, bringing the colt of a mare of mine called al-Qarha. I said, "Muhammad, I have brought you the colt of al-Qarha so that you may take it for yourself."He said, "I have no need for it. But if you wish, I will exchange it with you for the choicest of the coats of mail taken at Badr."I said, "I would not exchange it today for any single prize."He said, "Then I have no need for it."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا عيسى بن يونس أخبرني أبي عن أبي إسحق
أتيت النبي ﷺ بعد أن فرغ من أهل بدر بابن فرس لي يقال لها القرحاء فقلت يا محمد إني قد جئتك بابن القرحاء لتتخذه قال لا حاجة لي فيه وإن شئت أن أقيضك به المختارة من دروع بدر فعلت قلت ما كنت أقيضه اليوم بغرة قال فلا حاجة لي فيه
