A woman was experiencing continuous bleeding during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so Umm Salama sought a ruling on her behalf from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.He said, "She should consider the number of nights and days during the month that she used to menstruate before this affliction came upon her, and leave off prayer for that portion of the month. Once that period has passed, she should perform a full bath, fasten a cloth tightly around herself, and then pray."
Its chain is daif. Nasai narrated it in the Book of Purification, chapter on mention of bathing from menstruation, hadith 209, from the hadith of Malik through this route, and it is also in Muwatta (Yahya) 1/62 and Qanabi, p. 80. This hadith has corroborating narrations, see hadiths 279 and 281. The chain is disconnected, and the hadith of Muslim, hadith 333, suffices in its place.
