The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would rest his head on my lap and recite the Quran while I was menstruating.
حدثنا محمد بن كثير حدثنا سفيان عن منصور بن عبد الرحمن عن صفية
كان رسول الله ﷺ يضع رأسه في حجري فيقرأ وأنا حائض
Takhrij (source classification): Bukhari transmitted it in the chapter "The Prophet's ﷺ saying, 'The one skilled in the Quran is with the noble, righteous scribes,'" in the book of Tawhid, hadith 7549, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with this wording. Dawud bin Abdul-Rahman Makki followed him in Muslim's version, hadith 301, as did Zuhayr in Bukhari's version, hadith 297.
