The Prophet ﷺ forbade passing around a sword while it is unsheathed.
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن أبي الزبير
أن النبي ﷺ نهى أن يتعاطى السيف مسلولا
[Its isnad is daif] Tirmidhi narrated it in Fitan, chapter on the prohibition of handling a drawn sword, no. 2163, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this wording, and he said, "Hasan gharib." Hakim graded it sahih according to the criterion of Muslim, 4/290, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has weak corroborating narrations.Abu Zubayr narrated it with an ambiguous form of transmission (anana).
