She said, "The established practice for one in spiritual retreat is that he does not visit the sick, does not attend a funeral, does not touch a woman or have intimate contact with her, and does not go out for any need except what is absolutely necessary. There is no spiritual retreat without fasting, and no spiritual retreat except in a congregational mosque."

[Its chain is daif] Daraqutni narrated it, 2/201, no. 2338, from the hadith of Zuhri through him, without mentioning that he heard it from Urwa. Malik also narrated it in Muwatta, 1/312, in a very abridged form.
