Maymuna bint Harith reported,

I prepared water for the Prophet ﷺ to wash with after major ritual impurity. He tipped the vessel onto his right hand and washed it two or three times, then poured water onto his private parts and washed them with his left hand. He then struck the ground with his hand and washed it, rinsed his mouth and nose, and washed his face and arms. After that, he poured water over his head and body, then moved aside and washed his feet. I offered him a towel, but he did not take it and began shaking the water off his body.I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said, "They saw no harm in using a towel, but they disliked making it a habit."
