Ayesha reported,

Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the ritual bath from major impurity, Sulayman's version states that he would begin by pouring water with his right hand onto his left, while Musaddad's version says he would wash his hands by pouring water from the vessel onto his right hand. Then both versions agree that he would wash his private parts. Musaddad's wording is that he would pour onto his left hand, and sometimes she would use an indirect expression for the private parts. Then he would perform ablution as he did for prayer. Then he would put his hands into the vessel and run his fingers through his hair until, when he saw that the water had reached the skin, or had thoroughly cleansed the skin, he would pour water over his head three times. If any water remained, he would pour it over himself.
