A man from the tribe of Banu Abdullah bin Kaab, brothers of Banu Qushayr, reported, "A cavalry detachment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raided us. I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was eating."He said, "Sit and have some of this food of ours."I said, "I am fasting."He said, "Sit, and I will tell you about the prayer and the fast. Allah Almighty has remitted half of the prayer and the fast from the traveler, and from the nursing or pregnant woman." By Allah, he said both of these, or one of them.The man said, "I felt deep regret that I had not eaten from the food of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

رجل من بني عبد الله بن كعب إخوة بني قشير قال أغارت علينا خيل لرسول الله ﷺ فانتهيت أو قال فانطلقت إلى رسول الله ﷺ وهو يأكل فقال اجلس فأصب من طعامنا هذا فقلت إني صائم قال اجلس أحدثك عن الصلاة وعن الصيام إن الله تعالى وضع شطر الصلاة أو نصف الصلاة والصوم عن المسافر وعن المرضع أو الحبلى والله لقد قالهما جميعا أو أحدهما قال فتلهفت نفسي أن لا أكون أكلت من طعام رسول الله ﷺ
[Hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the chapters on fasting, in the chapter on the concession permitting the pregnant and nursing woman to break the fast, no. 715, from the hadith of Abu Hilal Rasibi through this route, and said, Hasan, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, 2044. It was also narrated by Waheeb bin Khalid and others from Ibn Sawada through this route.
