Hamza al-Aslami asked the Prophet ﷺ, "Messenger of Allah, I am a man who fasts continuously. Should I fast while travelling?"He replied, "Fast if you wish, and break your fast if you wish."
حدثنا سليمان بن حرب ومسدد قالا حدثنا حماد عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أن حمزة الأسلمي سأل النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إني رجل أسرد الصوم أفأصوم في السفر قال صم إن شئت وأفطر إن شئت
Muslim recorded it in the chapter on Fasting, in the section on the choice between fasting and breaking the fast while traveling, hadith no. 1121, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, through this same chain.
