Yahya bin Saeed reported,

Abdul-Rahman bin Hakam divorced his wife with an irrevocable divorce, then he moved her out of her home. Ayesha sent word to Marwan bin Hakam, who was the governor of Madinah, saying to him, "Fear Allah and return the woman to her home."In Sulayman's version of the report, Marwan replied, "Abdul-Rahman has overruled me."In Qasim's version, Marwan replied, "Has the case of Fatimah bint Qays not reached you?"Ayesha said, "It will do you no harm not to mention Fatimah's case."Marwan said, "If you think there was something bad in her case, then the bad blood between these two is enough reason for me."

طلق بنت عبد الرحمن بن الحكم البتة فانتقلها عبد الرحمن فأرسلت عائشة رضي الله عنها إلى مروان بن الحكم وهو أمير المدينة فقالت له اتق الله واردد المرأة إلى بيتها فقال مروان في حديث سليمان إن عبد الرحمن غلبني وقال مروان في حديث القاسم أو ما بلغك شأن فاطمة بنت قيس فقالت عائشة لا يضرك أن لا تذكر حديث فاطمة فقال مروان إن كان بك الشر فحسبك ما كان بين هذين من الشر
