When we departed from Mecca, Bint Hamza followed us calling out, "Uncle, uncle!" Ali reached out and took her by the hand, then said, "Here, take your cousin." So I carried her.He recounted the story and said that Jafar said, "She is my cousin, and her maternal aunt is my wife."The Prophet ﷺ ruled that she be given to her maternal aunt and said, "The maternal aunt holds the status of the mother."
حدثنا عباد بن موسى أن إسمعيل بن جعفر حدثهم عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحق عن هانئ وهبيرة
لما خرجنا من مكة تبعتنا بنت حمزة تنادي يا عم يا عم فتناولها علي فأخذ بيدها وقال دونك بنت عمك فحملتها فقص الخبر قال وقال جعفر ابنة عمي وخالتها تحتي فقضى بها النبي ﷺ لخالتها وقال الخالة بمنزلة الأم
[Its chain is daif]. Ahmad narrated it: 1/98, 115, from the hadith of Israil, through the same route. Hakim graded it sahih: 3/12, and Dhahabi agreed with him, but its chain is daif, since Abu Ishaq was a mudallis and narrated it using "an" (an ambiguous form of transmission).
