The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any woman who asks her husband for a divorce without a valid reason, the fragrance of Paradise is forbidden to her."
حدثنا سليمان بن حرب حدثنا حماد عن أيوب عن أبي قلابة عن أبي أسماء
قال رسول الله ﷺ أيما امرأة سألت زوجها طلاقا في غير ما بأس فحرام عليها رائحة الجنة
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Majah reported it in "Divorce," chapter on the dislike of khula for a woman, no. 2055, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, with the same wording. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 1187. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid), no. 1320, as did Hakim, who said it met the standard of the two sheikhs, 2/200, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
