He divorced his wife with a final, irrevocable divorce, then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What did you intend?"He replied, "A single divorce."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Allah?"He said, "By Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is as you intended."

أنه طلق امرأته البتة فأتى رسول الله ﷺ فقال ما أردت قال واحدة قال آلله قال آلله قال هو على ما أردت
[Its chain is daif] Tirmidhi narrated it in "Divorce and Lian," in the chapter on what has been said about a man who divorces his wife absolutely, Hadith 1177, and Ibn Majah, Hadith 2051, from the hadith of Jareer bin Hazim, with this same wording.Zubayr bin Saeed is lenient in hadith transmission, and the preceding hadith serves in its place.
