The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you has intercourse with his wife and then wishes to repeat it, let him perform ablution between the two."
حدثنا عمرو بن عون حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن عاصم الأحول عن أبي المتوكل
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا أتى أحدكم أهله ثم بدا له أن يعاود فليتوضأ بينهما وضوءا
[Isnad evaluation]: Muslim narrated it in the chapter on menstruation, in the section on the permissibility of a person in a state of major ritual impurity sleeping and the recommendation of performing wudu for it (Hadith: 308), from the hadith of Hafs bin Ghiyath, with this wording. Tirmidhi graded it sahih (Hadith: 141), and so on.
