Umar bin Muatab reported that Abu Hasan, the freed slave of the tribe of Nawfal, told him that he sought a ruling from Ibn Abbas about a male slave who had been married to a female slave and had divorced her with two pronouncements, after which both were freed. He asked whether it was permissible for him to propose to her again.Ibn Abbas replied, "Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged accordingly."
