An old man from Tufawa narrated to me, saying, I stayed as a guest with Abu Hurayra in Medina, and I never saw any of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ more diligent in service or more attentive to a guest than him.One day while I was with him, he was on a couch of his, and with him was a bag containing pebbles or date-stones. Below him was a black slave-girl of his. He was using them to count his glorifications of Allah, and when what was in the bag ran out, he tossed it down to her. She gathered the pebbles back up, returned them to the bag, and handed it back to him. Then he said, "Shall I tell you about myself and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"I said, "Yes, please."He said, While I was suffering from a fever in the mosque, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and entered the mosque. He said, "Has anyone seen the young man of Daws?" three times.A man said, "Messenger of Allah, there he is, lying with a fever at the side of the mosque."So he came walking until he reached me, placed his hand on me, and spoke kindly to me. I rose, and he walked off until he reached the spot where he used to pray. He turned to face the people, and with him were two rows of men and one row of women, or two rows of women and one row of men.He said, "If Satan causes me to forget anything in my prayer, let the men say 'Subhan Allah' and let the women clap."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then prayed and did not forget anything from his prayer. He said, "Keep your places, keep your places."Musa added here, Then he praised Allah the Exalted and extolled Him, then said, "To proceed."Then they agreed in their wording. He turned to the men and said, "Is there any man among you who, when he goes to his wife, shuts his door, draws his curtain, and conceals himself with the covering of Allah?"They said, "Yes."He said, "Then he sits afterward and says, 'I did such-and-such, I did such-and-such.'"They were silent. Then he turned to the women and said, "Is there any one of you who talks about such things?"They were silent. Then a young woman knelt up high on one of her knees. Muammal said in his version, a young woman in the bloom of youth knelt up on one of her knees and stretched up so that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ could see her and hear her speech. She said, "Messenger of Allah, indeed they do talk and they do talk."He said, "Do you know what that is like? That is like a she-devil who meets a he-devil in the street and satisfies his desire with her while the people are watching.""Indeed, the perfume of men is that whose scent is apparent but whose color is not. And indeed, the perfume of women is that whose color is apparent but whose scent is not."Abu Dawud said, From here onward I memorized it from Muammal and Musa."Indeed, no man should lie naked against another man, and no woman against another woman, except with a child or a parent." He mentioned a third, but I have forgotten it. It is in the version of Musaddad, but I did not memorize it as well as I would have liked.Musa said, Hammad narrated to us, from Jareeri, from Abu Nadra, from the man from Tufawa.

Its isnad is daif. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Manners, the chapter on what has been said about perfume for men and women, no. 2787, and Nasai, no. 5121, from the hadith of Jareeri, in a shortened form, and Tirmidhi said, "Hasan." The shaykh from Tafawah is unknown (Taqrib), and part of the hadith has corroborating narrations.
