I entered the mosque and saw Abu Saeed Khudri, so I sat with him and asked him about coitus interruptus.Abu Saeed said, "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition against Banu Mustaliq, and we captured some Arab women as prisoners. We desired the women, for celibacy had become difficult for us, yet we also wanted the ransom money. So we decided to practice coitus interruptus. Then we said to ourselves, 'How can we do this while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is among us, before we even ask him about it?' So we asked him about it, and he said, 'It does not matter if you do not do it. There is no soul destined to come into existence until the Day of Resurrection but that it will come into existence.'"
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Manumission, chapter "Whoever from among the Arabs owned a slave and gifted him," etc., no. 2542, through the hadith of Malik, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Marriage, chapter "The Ruling on Coitus Interruptus," no. 1438, through the hadith of Rabia by the same route, and it is also found in Muwatta (Yahya): 2/594.
