The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Water is from water." Abu Salama used to act upon this.
حدثنا أحمد بن صالح حدثنا ابن وهب أخبرني عمرو عن ابن شهاب عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الماء من الماء وكان أبو سلمة يفعل ذلك
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Menstruation, in the chapter explaining that intercourse in the early period of Islam did not require ghusl unless semen was emitted, hadith no. 343, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb, with this wording.
