Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to travel, he would draw lots among his wives, and whichever one's lot came out, he would take her with him. He used to allot each of his wives her day and night, except that Sawda bint Zama gave her day to Ayesha.
حدثنا أحمد بن عمرو بن السرح أخبرنا ابن وهب عن يونس عن ابن شهاب أن عروة بن الزبير حدثه أن
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أراد سفرا أقرع بين نسائه فأيتهن خرج سهمها خرج بها معه وكان يقسم لكل امرأة منهن يومها وليلتها غير أن سودة بنت زمعة وهبت يومها لعائشة
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Gifts and Their Merit, in the chapter on a woman's gift to someone other than her husband, etc., hadith no. 2593 and hadith no. 2688, from the hadith of Yunus bin Yazid, through the same chain.
