He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "What is permitted for me with my wife while she is menstruating?"He replied, "What is above the waist-wrapper is permitted to you."He also mentioned eating with a menstruating woman, and went on to relate the rest of the hadith.

[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Bayhaqi narrated it: 1/312, from the hadith of Abu Dawud through his route, and Tirmidhi abridged it, no. 133, saying, "Hasan gharib."
