The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Women are not required to shave their heads. Women are only required to shorten their hair."
حدثنا أبو يعقوب البغدادي ثقة حدثنا هشام بن يوسف عن ابن جريج عن عبد الحميد بن جبير بن شيبة عن صفية بنت شيبة قالت أخبرتني أم عثمان بنت أبي سفيان أن
قال رسول الله ﷺ ليس على النساء الحلق إنما على النساء التقصير
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Darimi narrated it, no. 1911, from the hadith of Hisham bin Yusuf through this route, and Ibn Jurayj explicitly stated that he heard it directly, in his version, and Hafiz graded it hasan in Talkhis Habir, 2/261.
