When Hajjaj killed Ibn Zubayr, he sent word to Ibn Umar asking at what hour the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would set out on this day.Ibn Umar replied, "When that time comes, we shall set out."When Ibn Umar was about to set out, they said, "The sun has not yet declined."He asked, "Has it declined?"They said, "It has not declined," or "It has declined."When they said, "It has indeed declined," he set off.

Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Rituals of Hajj, chapter on staying at Arafah, no. 3009, from the hadith of Waki with the same wording, and it is also found in Musnad Ahmad, 2/25.Saeed bin Hassan al-Hijazi is of unknown status, no one vouched for him except Ibn Hibban, and the hadith of Muslim, no. 1218, suffices in its place.
