The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then prayed without performing ablution.
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة حدثنا مالك عن زيد بن أسلم عن عطاء بن يسار
أن رسول الله ﷺ أكل كتف شاة ثم صلى ولم يتوضأ
Reported by Muslim in the chapter on menstruation, section on the abrogation of wudu for anything touched by fire, hadith no. 354, from Abdullah bin Maslama Qanabi, and by Bukhari, in the chapter on wudu, section on one who did not perform wudu after eating sheep meat or barley porridge, hadith no. 207, from the hadith of Malik through the same chain. It is also found in the Muwatta (Yahya narration): 1/25 (and Qanabi narration, p. 49).
