Ayesha reported,

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage. Some of us entered the state of consecration for Umrah, some for both Hajj and Umrah, and some for Hajj alone. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered it for Hajj. Those who had entered it for Hajj, or who had combined Hajj and Umrah, did not leave that state until the Day of Sacrifice. He added, "As for those who entered it for Umrah, they left that state."
