Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit informed me that the Prophet ﷺ and his companions used to slaughter the sacrificial camel with its left foreleg tied up, while it stood on its remaining legs.

وأخبرني عبد الرحمن بن سابط أن النبي ﷺ وأصحابه كانوا ينحرون البدنة معقولة اليسرى قائمة على ما بقي من قوائمها
Its chain of transmission is daif. Bayhaqi narrated it (5/237, 238) from the hadith of Abu Dawud through this route. Ibn Mulaqqin said in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj, no. 1678, "Abu Dawud narrated it with a good chain."The hadith has supporting narrations. Ibn Jurayj and Abu Zubayr both narrated using ambiguous transmission wording (an), and the narration of Ibn Sabit is a mursal one.
