I used to apply perfume to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for his ihram before he entered into it, and for his exit from ihram before he made tawaf around the House.
حدثنا القعنبي عن مالك ح و حدثنا أحمد بن يونس حدثنا مالك عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه
كنت أطيب رسول الله ﷺ لإحرامه قبل أن يحرم ولإحلاله قبل أن يطوف بالبيت
Bukhari transmitted it in the book of Hajj, chapter "Perfume at the time of ihram," etc., hadith no. 1539, and Muslim, etc., hadith no. 1189, from the hadith of Malik, in the book of Hajj, chapter "The recommendation of using perfume on the body shortly before ihram." It is also found in the Muwatta (Yahya's recension), 1/328.
