The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for a day and a night..." and he mentioned the same meaning.
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة والنفيلي عن مالك ح و حدثنا الحسن بن علي حدثنا بشر بن عمر حدثني مالك عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد قال الحسن في حديثه عن أبيه ثم اتفقوا
عن النبي ﷺ قال لا يحل لامرأة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر أن تسافر يوما وليلة فذكر معناه
Reference: Also narrated by Muslim, no. 1339, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain, and it is found in Muwatta (Yahya), 2/978. Bukhari mentioned it as a suspended report in the Book of Shortening the Prayer, chapter on how much distance requires shortening the prayer, no. 1088.
